The Tien Tsin China chili peppers provide the heat for this dish and it is hot! They can be found at most Asian markets or on-line at Penzeys. The flavorful sauce is created by simmering all the ingredients in a Dutch oven or a pot. The sauce is perfect for dipping the sweet crab meat into and you may want to make Croistini to soak up the wonderful flavor of the sauce. The presentation of the dish has a wow factor, but is quite messy when cracking the crab. If needed see technique How to Cook and Remove Meat from a Dungeness Crab.
1 – 1 1/2 1b. Dungeness crab
1 – 14 oz. can of lite coconut milk

Ladle any remainder sauce into a little serving dishes for dipping.
You will need a beverage to cut through the spice, try an ice cold long neck Bud Light, Tsingtao (China), Asahi or your favorite beer.
