A butter compound is easy to make and adds great flavor to many dishes. Try it over simple grilled steaks or simple potato dishes.
2 tablespoons of olive oil
¼ cup of finely chopped shallots
1 cup of red wine
2 sticks of butter at room temperature
Heat olive oil over medium high heat in medium sized skillet and add shallots. Cook until lightly browned and add red wine and reduce by half. Transfer red wine shallot mixture to a mixing bowl and mix together with butter. Once well combined transfer to a smaller dish and refrigerate until ready to use.
