Tandoori Spice Grilled Shrimp

Using spices in your cooking not only adds great flavor, but is extremely easy to make. Only three ingredients were used to make the entrée and round it out with plain basmati rice, naan, pita bread or Basmati Rice with Dried Figs. Tandoori spice seasoning is quite mild in heat and is made up of coriander, cumin, nutmeg, ground red pepper, garlic, paprika and onion. It can be found in the bulk section of your grocery store or in the spice section. It also can be ordered online at MySpiceSage or Penzeys. Serves 4.

Ingredients

1 lb. of shrimp, shell removed and deveined
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of Tandoori spice seasoning
Skewers or grilling basket

Technique

In a medium sized Ziplock bag add oil and seasoning and massage to mix. Add shrimp and massage to evenly coat shrimp. Marinate for about 15 minutes in the fridge. Preheat a grill to medium high heat, thread shrimp onto a skewer or add to a grilling basket and grill shrimp about 6 – 8 minutes flipping once or until done. Cooking times will vary depending on your grill and how large your shrimp are. Serve immediately.
