Dirty Martini

A great drink to kick off the night that is shaken, not stirred!  The only difference between a traditional martini and a dirty martini is that a little splash of olive juice is added.  We added a little something special to this one – blue cheese stuffed olives.  This is my nephew, Jonathan’s rendition of the classic drink.  Shake it up and enjoy!  I have put ingredient amounts in cups and tablespoons, because I think that it will be easier for the home cook/mixologist to make.

Ingredients

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons (3 oz.) of Vodka
2 tablespoons (1 oz.) of Vermouth
Ice
Splash of olive juice abut ½ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon more if desired
Blue cheese stuffed olives for garnish

Technique

The ingredient amounts will yield one drink.  In a shaker add the first two ingredients and fill with ice.  Shake well and strain into a martini glass.  No ice should be present.  Add olive juice, garnish with olives and enjoy!
