Simple Cheese & Olive Plate

Look how wonderful you can make a cheese plate look with just a few ingredients and paying attention to detail!  This took less then 5 minutes to put together and I am ready to entertain! You can substitute black Cerignolas for a jarred Mediterranean blend. However, if they are available it is worth while to purchase them. They are a very “meaty” olive and provide a wonderful presentation.

Ingredients

1 medium sized container of Black Cerignolas from the olive bar from your deli olive bar dept.
1 French baguette sliced
1/2 lb. of an Italian provolone sharp cheese thinly sliced or your favorite cheese

Technique

Drain olives and place into olive tray. Cut cheese and baguette into thin slices and place on serving tray around olive tray. Garnish with herbs, if desired.

Suggested Beverage

This is a time for you to select your favorite red or white wine to match the cheese you have selected.  For the cheese and olives selected above I would select a light red or a bold white.  Try Parducci Family Farmed Pinot Noir (California) or J. Lohr Arroyo Seco Riverstone Chardonnay (California).
