Slow Cooker BBQ Pork Roast

This is an extremely easy meal that requires not much time on your part and feeds a crowd. Usually there are leftovers that make great sandwiches, such as, Pulled Pork Sandwiches. This meat can easily be substitute for the chicken in our Texas Style BBQ Chicken Sandwiches. With a little planning you can easily have two great meals using one type of meat.

Ingredients

1 – 2 lb. Pork Loin Roast Boneless Center Cut or your favorite kind
2 cups of KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce
1/2 bottle of dark beer, such as, an Oktoberfest

Technique

Rinse roast and place into a slow cooker. Add barbeque sauce and beer. Cook on low for 6 – 8 hours. Remove, serve on a platter and enjoy!

Suggested Side Dish

Maggie’s Creamy Potato Salad with Fresh Dill, Chilled Broccoli Salad, Corn on the Cob with a Chipotle Chili Pepper Butter Compound or a simple slaw.  If you make the slaw you will have everything needed to make the sandwiches above.

Suggested Beverage

A dry pink blend is a perfect pairing for BBQ dishes and don’t think sweet zins!  Try Domaine De Ricaud Bordeaux Clairet (France),  Texas Hills Vineyard Rosato di Sangiovese (Texas),  Alexander Valley Vineyards® dry ROSÉ of SANGIOVESE (Sonoma County) or Toad Hollow® Dry Pinot Noir Rosé Eye of the Toad (Sonoma County).  Beer is a natural for BBQ dishes and use the one that you used in the cooking process or try Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen Amber(Germany), Flensburger Brauerei Gold Premium Lager Beer (Germany), Shiner Bock by Spoetzl Brewery (Shiner, TX), Saint Arnold Amber Ale (Houston, TX) or Samuel Adams® Boston Lager® (Boston, MA).
