Meat for Cheap!

Yes, it is possible!  Always be on the lookout for specials in your grocer’s meat isle.  When they are running a special stock up and freeze it.  Today (August 3, 2011) I found a 1.5 lb. package of Beef Loin Top Sirloin Steak Boneless for $5.20 easily feeding  4 for $1.30 per person.  I also found a 3 lb. package of Pork Ribs for $5.65 easily feeding  4 for $1.41 per person.  In the past I have been able to find chicken on sale and a great find is Cornish game hens that come in a package of 2 for $5.00.  Each hen will feed 2 so an entire package will feed 4 for $1.25 per person. Depending on what sides you serve this is cheaper than drive through food and the types of meat I am chatting about are normally considered “Gourmet”!  I found these specials at Kroger in Cypress, TX.  If you stumble across some great specials going on please share with us!  Keep in mind some of the recipes listed below will need to be adapted to the amount of meat you purchase, which may mean doubling the ingredients or cutting them in half.
