Picilini

A pickle lovers dream! This is just a different take on the classic dirty martini by swapping out the olive juice for pickle juice and adding a pickle for garnish along with cheddar cheese instead of a blue cheese stuffed olive. Actually I can’t take credit for the idea, my creative director Stacy and her husband mentioned it to me and since I love pickles thought it was a great idea. So here it is – shake it up and enjoy! I have put ingredient amounts in tablespoons and teaspoons, because I think that it will be easier for the home cook/mixologist to make. Makes 1 drink as shown.

Ingredients

Martini
3 oz. Vodka (6 tablespoons)
1 oz. Vermouth (2 tablespoons)
Ice
2 teaspoons of pickle juice or more if desired
Garnish
Very small pickles or cut a wedge from one
A cube of cheddar cheese

Sprig of dill weed (optional)

Technique

In shaker the first two ingredients and fill with ice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. No ice should be present. Add pickle juice, garnish with a pickle, cube of cheese and a sprig of dill if using.
