Chili!

Chili comes in all types of flavors mixed up with various ingredients and some of us have our own “secret recipe’s”!  I was lucky enough to have Susan and Alan, a husband and wife team from Johnson City, Texas share their 2008 Terlingua International Chili Championship recipe along with a few friends and one that I grew up eating that is my Mother’s recipe! I have a variety of chili recipes listed below that include a Championship recipe, a unique seasonal take on chili Savory Sage Sausage and Pumpkin Chili and an extremely simple one – Maggie’s Simple Chili (If you can open a can you can make this one!).  And don’t forget to make extra or that you can morph your chili into a meal later in the week. Chili generally tastes better the next day so it is perfect to make on a weekend and eat as your meal(s) during the week!  If you want to make it really easy, Susan and Alan have the spice packet you can order and all you have to do is add water and beef!  To order click on their link Pure Texan Chili at the bottom right hand side of the screen.

Try some of the recipes below and if you have a favorite and would like to share your favorite, I would love to hear from you!

Since this was written Alan Dean has passed on and this post is dedicated to honor the Great Pepper Dean may your legacy live on through your wonderful wife Susan and your family!
