Pistachios are one of my favorite nuts because of their distinctive flavor, color and health benefits. They not only taste great when eaten alone, but they also add a delightful crunch to salads and desserts, and make an elegant crust for seafood and poultry. Pistachios can be bought either shelled or with the shell on. If you are using them for cooking or baking, it will save time in the kitchen if you buy them already shelled. However, sometimes it is fun to shell them while watching a movie or visiting with friends.
