All you need are a few ingredients and you have an appetizer with little effort.Â If you want to add a little more flavor, add a Â½ cup of chopped pitted Kalamata olives. PairÂ withÂ Baked Pita ChipsÂ or purchased pita chips for a fantastic appetizer or snack!
1 â€“ 16 oz. log of fresh mozzarella cheese, drained
1 cup of fresh tomatoes diced
2 tablespoon of zatar seasoning
Baked Pita Chips or purchased pita chips
Make Baked Pita Chips and set aside. Cut fresh mozzarella log into 5 pieces and place into a decorative baking dish about 5 inches x 5 inches and 2 inches deep. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove baking dish with cheese and carefully drain off any liquid from container. (Fresh mozzarella has a tendency to retain liquid and during the cooking process it is released.) Top with fresh diced tomatoes and zatar seasoning. Surround dish with pita chips and serve immediately.
