Easy Croutons

Croutons are very easy to make and a great way to use bread that may go bad. Add to soups or salads.  Use a mix of your preferred herbs and/or spices to your liking.

Ingredients

1/2 baguette cut into small uniform pieces
1/4 cup of olive oil
1 cube of Dorot brand basil thawed or 1 teaspoon of dried basil (optional)
1 – 2 cloves of garlic minced or 1- 2 teaspoons of garlic powder (optional)

Technique

Cut baguette into small uniform pieces. Place in a medium sized mixing bowl. If using basil, pop cube of Dorat brand basil out of the freezer pack into the mixing bowl or add dried basil. If using garlic add it at this point. Let sit for a few minutes to let cube thaw. Add oil and toss all ingredients to mix thoroughly. Place evenly on a cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
